Remember that what you can build entirely depends on the size of the plot. Pick Estate Hall and then click on Purchase Construction Permit. This can be done via the housing menu that is accessible while standing in your plot. Once you have land, it is time for a housing permit.

Most of the challenge is in finding an empty plot, especially if you are located on a popular server. Saving up Gil for one is only half the challenge. In other words, housing is quite competitive. As of the 5.1 Patch, there are 5,040 plots per server. To unlock these locations, complete "Where the Heart Is" in Lower La Noscea, Central Shroud, Western Thanalan, and Kugane. These are the Mist, Lavender Beds, The Goblet, Shirogane, and the upcoming plots of Ishgard that are coming after Endwalker drops. Currently, there are four and an upcoming fifth housing location in Final Fantasy 14.

Though Onsal Hakair nowadays is kind of wild with the new PvP system. Capturing points instead of holding them and then forcing battles. I'd like something more akin to Onsal Hakair. Borderlands Ruins (Secure) has PvE objectives but not as annoying. I might love the White ADS mount and the title but man, I really don't like the map. The Fields of Glory (Shatter) is just bad, the long distances you need to travel, the tight corridors and the obvious PvE objective is and has never been fun for me. I don't know what kind of map I want but I know what I don't want. We got Borderlands Ruins in 2.X, Seal Rock and The Fields of Glory in 3.X and finally Onsal Hakair in 5.X. I would love if they started to release more FL maps. I don't play on NA or SEA so I don't know much about their communities. On JP there's a large community for FL and is the main reason I play on JP, if these people didn't put so much effort into the game mode and trying to coordinate matches, I'd probably wouldn't play much FFXIV in all honesty. There are definitely EU players who play FL seriously but I'm going to say that most don't. Not great but it's popping during peak hours at least. On EU I'd say the mode is treated more like Leveling roulette or a practice mode for Crystal Conflict. The mode has alot of replayability and would benefit from getting more attention. Every match is somewhat different and you perform differently. It's active and the content won't get stale unless you don't like PvP in general. I think it's a shame that there's not more emphasis on it. With all the content SE has produced for FFXIV, Frontline (FL) is one of the most neglected content in the game.
